L'Hôtel des Haras blended into the Vaux de Cernay estate alongside the already-existing Abbey Hotel. It was at the beginning of the century that the Baron Henri de Rothschild, an avid hunter, once his contribution to the restauration of the Abbey was terminated, carried out the construction of numerous, spacious buildings to house horses and hunt.
The nearby forest offered an exceptional 7,500 acre reserve. The son of Louis XIV is known to have hunted down wolves on the lands of the monks who received him.
In combination with the Abbey buildings 250 metres away, the Vaux-de-Cernay estate can now receive a total of 200 people in pleasant surroundings and a peaceful atmosphere conducive to study.
For leisure and relaxation, facilities include 2 tennis courts, swimming pool, jacuzzi, hammam, lake fishing and private hunting in a 65 acre park.
