Villandry is renowned for the harmony of its architecture and its gardens ; Villandry undoubtedly owes its fame to the splendid terraces of gardens which encase it like a jewelled casket.
The water garden: on the upper level, within a huge cloister of lime trees, a mirror-like lake collects the water required to irrigate the gardens and feed the fountains.

The decorative ornemental garden: this is composed of three sections on the same level as the Chateau .The garden of love and the garden of music where box, yew and flowers combine to form symbolic patterns.

The herb garden with aromatic plants and herbs for cooking and medicinal purposes.

The ornamental kitchen garden: at the lowest level, the splendid kitchen garden which is divided into decorative squares extends over an area of more than 12,500 m2. This garden is completely replanted twice a year, in spring and in summer.

The elegance of the Renaissance. Villandry is renowed for the harmony of its architecture and its gardens. You will be impressed by the splendour of its courtyard, the elegance of its facades reflected in the still water of the moat and the charm of its XVIIIth century state rooms.
You will be able to access the top of the medieval tower, from which you will enjoy splendid view points on the gardens and on the Loire valley.
