Presentation
Chateau de Longsard was built at the end of the 18th century; its plain and symmetrical style is a perfect example of the architecture of the period. From the south facing terrace one can admire the gardens and the french parterre with its century old Topiary and the vineyards of the Beaujolais. Its location makes it a perfect base for visiting the charming local countryside, the marshes of les Dombes, its wildlife and the old town of Lyon, classified as world heritage site by Unesco. At the end of the day you can sample the estate wines under the shaded lime trees before retiring to your comfortable rooms (refurbished in 1998-1999). The securely enclosed car park is situated in the north courtyard.
